
Dr. Monica Gbuchie
MemberDr. Monica Gbuchie is a dedicated global health professional, researcher, and nonprofit leader
committed to advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for underserved
populations, reducing the burden of HIV/AIDS, and promoting equitable health policies across
sub-Saharan Africa.
With several years of volunteer experience, Monica is an impact-driven advocate for the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She is a Millennium Fellowship Alumna (Class of
2020) and has been recognized by the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium
Campus Network for her contributions to global health. She is also a member of the Young
African Leaders Initiative Network and holds a certification in Leadership and Management in
Health from the University of Washington.
Monica is the co-founder and Executive Director of Act4Her Health Initiative (A4HI), a youth-led
nonprofit that advances SDGs 3 and 5. Through advocacy, innovative interventions,
people-centered research, and support services, A4HI works to improve SRHR for women and
young people in underserved communities.
Passionate about women’s health, youth empowerment, and community development, Monica
firmly believes that everyone has an intrinsic responsibility to leave the world a lot better than
they met it.
