Umeh Anthony
MemberAnthony Uche Umeh is a young graduate pharmacist and researcher driven by a hunger and zeal for learning and giving back to his environment and the global community.
As a United Nations Millennium Fellow, he led a team of five under the initiative "Fight Against Hypertension" sensitizing both the young and old of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka community on the importance of lifestyle modification in preventing and managing hypertension. Moreover, as an eloquent public speaker with a solid understanding of pharmacology and clinical pharmacy, Anthony has delivered speeches to elderly individuals on managing diabetes mellitus and improving their quality of life. He has also proactively participated in HIV awareness campaigns, demonstrating his commitment to public health initiatives.
As an early-career researcher, Anthony's interests are centered around drug discovery, development, and the repurposing of drug molecules with the potential to positively impact areas such as oncology and the infectious diseases sector. He has co-authored two published articles in reputable journals, with several more still in press.
Additionally, as a member of the Person-Centered HIV Research Team, he has contributed his research expertise to projects that have stood the test of time. Anthony looks forward to building mutual connections and establishing collaborations that will lead to advancements in the health sector.
