Stephen Ikechukwu Azumara is a pharmacy graduate from the University of Nigeria. With a

strong foundation in pharmacoepidemiology, health outcomes research, and drug safety, Stephen

is dedicated to advancing public health through research and practical applications. He has

collaborated on several published studies, including research on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders

(FASD) and the prevalence of asymptomatic malaria and anemia in primary school children,

amongst others.

Stephen’s passion for Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Administration, particularly in drug

utilization, adherence, and HIV care, was inspired during his studies under Dr. Ebere Emilia

Ayogu, Dr. Kosisochukwu Amorha, and Dr. AbdulMuminu Isah. His experiences span across

roles in the Antiretroviral (ARV) unit at General Hospital Nyanya, the Jos University Teaching

Hospital, General Hospital Ekpan, and with Caritas NGO, where he contributed to HIV and

malaria-focused initiatives.

In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Stephen has been actively involved with

ISPOR and Person-Centered HIV Research Team (PeCHIVReT), coordinating research projects

that focus on improving treatment outcomes and patient engagement. His dedication to the field,

coupled with his strong analytical abilities, has made him a valuable asset in research teams and

public health initiatives.
