Oladotun Okediji is currently a 3rd-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at the University of Ilorin,

Ilorin, Nigeria. He is an early career researcher and public health advocate with significant

interests in HIV/AIDS, antimicrobial resistance, and infectious diseases.

In his first year as an undergraduate, he was accepted into the 1st IPSF Global Research Lab

Project. That same year, he was among the 2,000 young people globally selected to receive the

Younga 2023 Delegate Scholarship, an initiative focused on creating solutions for a more

inclusive and sustainable world during the United Nations Decade of Action (2020–2030).

Additionally, as a first-year pharmacy student, he was accepted into the Public Health

Committee of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF). In this capacity, he

co-organized and facilitated the first-ever IPSF Model World Health Organization and

contributed to drafting two of the thirteen IPSF policy statements for the 77th World Health

Assembly. During this period, he also held roles such as Campus Manager for Rumoney and

member of the PharmaTether Project Team. Notably, he led his team to the final round of the

IPSF AfRO Patient Counseling event in commemoration of World Diabetes Day.

In his second year, he once again led his team to the final round of the IPSF AfROlympics. His

research work gained international recognition, with abstracts accepted for both oral and poster

presentations. These included an in-person poster presentation at the 25th International AIDS

Conference in Munich, Germany, an e-poster presentation at the HIV Research for Prevention

Conference in Lima, Peru, and oral presentations at the Tanzania Health Summit and the Uganda

Digital Health Summit. He participated in the TIDA Innovate for Impact Designathon 2.0, where

he gained hands-on skills in advocacy and design thinking to create awareness and advocacy

strategies for issues related to sexual and reproductive health. During this year, he was appointed

as a Global Youth Ambassador at Theirworld, served as the Personal Assistant to the National

President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), and was a member of

the editorial committee of his local PANS chapter.

Currently, in his third year of pharmacy school, Oladotun has achieved further academic

milestones. The abstract of his research work has been accepted for both poster and oral

presentations at the 2024 Nigeria Family Planning Conference in Abuja and the 2024 POHER

Medical and Research Symposium in Lusaka, Zambia. He also serves as a researcher with the

Person-Centered HIV Research Team (PeCHIVReT), contributing to person centered research

and advocacy addressing HIV/AIDS.

Oladotun Okediji continues to exemplify dedication to academic excellence, impactful advocacy,

and leadership, driving meaningful contributions to global health and societal development.
