Gabriel Shalom
InternShalom Gabriel is a dedicated pharmacist and health advocate with a diverse academic
background and hands-on experience in both clinical practice and research. Holding a B.Pharm
degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, alongside a B.Sc in Botany, Shalom combines a
scientific foundation with practical expertise to contribute effectively to healthcare and public
health initiatives. Currently interning at the FRSC Medical Center, Shalom provides essential
healthcare support, gaining valuable insights into patient-centered care and medical best
practices.
A strong proponent of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and
Well-being), she is committed to promoting equitable healthcare for all. This passion has led her
to volunteer with several health-focused organizations, including the Blessed to Bless Hands
Foundation, the Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) in Abuja, and the Okapi Children Cancer
Foundation. Through these roles, she has championed health education, preventive healthcare,
and access to medical resources in underserved communities, working tirelessly to address
health inequities and improve community wellness.
In her current role as a research intern with the Person-Centered HIV Research Team, Shalom is
actively engaged in research that emphasizes the importance of personalized, inclusive
healthcare approaches for people living with HIV. This research internship not only enhances
Shalom’s technical and analytical skills but also aligns with her vision of creating a healthier
society where patient care is individualized and accessible to all.
Shalom continues to grow her expertise at the intersection of pharmacy, research, and
community health. With a commitment to lifelong learning and community impact, she is poised
to make meaningful contributions to public health, working towards a future where quality and
affordable healthcare is a universal right.
