Emmanuella Benson
MemberEmmanuella Benson is a sixth-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) student at the
University of Benin with a strong passion for public health, HIV advocacy, and research.
She volunteers over 120 hours monthly at the PEPFAR Pharmacy, University of Benin
Teaching Hospital, where she provides pharmaceutical care to persons living with or
affected by HIV. Her role includes managing adverse drug reactions, promoting access
to PEP and PrEP, and addressing stigma through trust-building interactions.
She leads the Research Team in the Public Health Committee of Pharmaceutical
Association of Nigerian Students, University of Benin, training peers on impactful public
health interventions. Her advocacy efforts have reached thousands, from underserved
populations to university students, promoting preventive measures like PrEP and PEP.
As a full member of the Person-Centered HIV Research Team (PeCHIVReT),
Emmanuella aims on translating research findings into practical solutions, including
strategies for reaching high-risk populations living with or affected with HIV.
Emmanuella recently graduated with a perfect GPA from the Faculty of Pharmacy,
University of Indonesia, where she studied phytomedicine research. She is dedicated to
reducing stigma, improving access to care, and fostering inclusive, patient-centered
approaches to combat HIV/AIDS in her community and beyond.
